Hey what’s up everyone. Scott Hughes here aka “Squirrel”. I’d have to say that my nickname is very fitting for my personality. I tend to be a little out of control in all that I do but my older age, 32 now, has slowed me down a bit. For those of you that don’t know much about me, here it goes.
I started racing back in 1989. The likes of Mark Pavidis, Cliff Lett, Brian Kinwald, Kyle Reed, Jack Johnson and Ron Rosetti were the guys to beat. Heck, Pavidis is a current World Champion and Kinwald can still be seen tearing it up all over the US. I was hooked and gifted with my hand/eye coordination so I drove like a bat out of you know what. Since then I’ve won numerous National Championships, I am currently the Vice World Champion in 1:8 Off-Road, and love all facets of radio control.
Moving on to more personal stuff, I’ve been happily married to my wife Lorinda for just under 5 years. We are expecting our first baby in just a couple of weeks. His name is Samuel Scott. We look forward on spending all of our waking minutes with him watching him grow into a mini Squirrel.
