I was forwarded this picture from an old racing buddy who now lives in Spain. I believe this was like 1986 or 1987 and we were racing a 3-hour Enduro in Hesperia, California. In the picture from left to right is Myself, Rob Hopkins and Casey Heinrichs, we all lived in Lake Elsinore, California. My first job in the R/C Industry was at Lakeside Hobbies, which was owned by Rob and his Mom, Margaret. It brings a smile to my face too see this old picture and the memories are priceless. I hope racing brings you the same kind of joy!  See ya at the races!

Hello Pro-Line viewers. I titled this Blog “The Great Northwest” because in my eyes it really is amazing. I recently went to the Lunsford Gas Blast in Portland, Oregon and after the event I went directly over to Couer d’Alene to work with Performance R/C Hobbies on some projects. While staying up in this beautiful region I had the opportunity to go with Matt Afana to ride snowmobiles in the fresh Idaho powder. WOW what an amazing and truly breathtaking experience for a California Native!

What a crazy three weeks of racing! Being on the road, for me, are some of the best times in life. After racing The Dirt Nitro Challenge in Arizona I immediately flew to Spokane, Washington where I met up the crew from Performance R/C Hobbies and started our trek up to Red Deer, Alberta Canada to attend The Canadian Winternationals.   This is the second year we trudged the crazy blizzard conditions and numerous Elk and Deer crossings in the old Ford F-350 with 33 foot parts trailer in tow, and ten or twelve hours later we arrived in “Race Condition.” LOL.  We spent five days in Canada, if you haven’t gone you’re missing out, and then Rick McCrery, Matt Afana, Anthony Howarth and I started the venture back to Spokane and it was a great time with close friends. I was almost feeling done when it hit me; you have got one more race before this series is done, the Silver State Nitro Challenge.  So I packed it all up and flew directly to Vegas and was in miserable agony the whole week of racing this event.

Looking back I wouldn’t trade it for the anything, well maybe the terrible Vegas weather conditions, but I spent three weeks with my teammates and some of my closest friends which I think are some of the most valuable times in life, and hope you get to experience times like this too.

I hope to see you at the races,

Gary Guest

I am 37 years old, yeah baby, and have lived in So Cal my entire life. I was raised in San Diego until I was fifteen then we moved to the Temecula / Lake Elsinore area where I have called home for many years. I have been racing R/C since I was fourteen years old and I probably love it more now than ever, it has really been awesome for me!
