With the popularity of “Rat Rods”, I figured that I’d combine the looks of the Rat with the functionality of a crawler. Ken Lochel turned me onto this look with one of his crawlers and I think it came out really nice!
To get the Rat look, you must paint the outside of the body with flat black paint. I also painted the inside black with some Pactra Lexan paint so if the outside paint chips off, there will be black underneath. I’ve heard of some guys that paint the inside of the body with silver or copper color to give the affect of bare metal showing through a scratch in the paint job. To finish off the crawler, a set of Pro-Line 8 Shooter Bead-Loc wheels were added. I used the black on black wheels, then painted the ring bright red. The Pro-Line Chevy C-10 is the perfect application for this little project…..COOL!
